TEAM BABY ROBINSON
Affectionately known as “Team Baby Robinson” #TBR has been our pet name for our baby making process. I’m working on my infertility timeline, I personally don’t like the term TTC (trying to conceive) so you’ll never see me use it. It gives me PTSD and the shakes.
Our Journey With Infertility – The Timeline:
Trying without preventing, to no avail, until 2013
Visited a Reproductive Endocrinologist for the first time. He found a septum in my uterus and suggested surgery.
Surgery on 2.14.14 to remove septum, drain a cyst and remove endometriosis spots.
IUI number 1 in April – Failed
Spent the rest of 2014 trying to get our bearings
Took an infertility break and went to Europe
IUI no. 2 – FailIUI no. 3 – Fail
Met with RE to go over the possibility of starting IVF
Decided to try one more IUI, with medication – Fail
July – We decided to move forward with IVF but couldn’t decide on an RE; finally chose Dr. John Wilcox at HRC Pasadena over a local RE and an RE in Mexico
August – Started IVF protocols for a multi-cycle freeze all with PGS testing
Septemeber – IVF no. 1; resulted in one healthy female embryo after 5 days, four other embryos arrested
October – IVF no. 2; started protocol, flew to Pasadena, cycle cancelled due to poor response
December – IVF no. 3; resulted in 12 eggs, 8 embryos and only one healthy male embryo after 5 days
January – Started FET Protocol
February 4, 2015 – Frozen Embryo Transfer
February 22, 2015 – Miscarried boy/girl twins
March 8 – Hysteroscopy where my RE found a genetic defect in my uterus, I do not have proper blood flow where needed. More on that here. Dr. Wilcox recommended we use a gestational carrier.
Spring & Summer – Worked out my grief and all the feels from five years of infertility, loss and finding out my uterus is broken. Found and secured our gestational carrier.
July – IVF cycle no. 4; resulted in four 5-day embryos to freeze
September – IVF cycle no. 5; resulted in two 5-day embryos to freeze. Our final healthy embryo tally was three viable babies, one girl and two boys.
October 15 – Transfer to Gestational Carrier
October 25 – Confirmed pregnancy with a great BETA
November – Second positive BETA with numbers rising; ultrasound confirming gestational sac; ultrasound confirming heartbeat
December – 10-week ultrasound confirming everything looks good; graduated from infertility dr. to regular OBGYN; first OBGYN appointment and ultrasound confirming everything looks perfect.
I think we are having a baby this year! Due date July 2.
January – 15.5-week ultrasound and baby girl was kicking away!
