weekly updates for baby robs.
I didn’t think I’d ever, ever, EVER be that chick who posts weekly updates about ‘pregnancy.’ And I suppose I won’t be really. Since I will never be, and am currently not, physically pregnant. But, I want to give my daughter the story of how she got here. I want her to know how it was a team effort, how her surro mama grew her and everything else that goes along with it.
Being that I am a visual person who happens to be a graphic designer, I decided to create my version of weekly updates for baby girl; then I’ll compile them into a book that she can have. We plan to give one to our GC as well. Not only will it help explain her story, but it will also make her story that much more real and extraordinary.
Plus, there just aren’t a ton of resources out there for Intended Mothers who want to do ‘bump’ updates. Or any kind of update, really. But that’s a different story for a different day. Intended parents. The forgotten parents during pregnancy. 😉 While we may not be physically carrying our babies, we are still going through all the feelings and emotions that come with a growing bean. I would love to see the day when being an intended mother is ‘normalized.’ A day when resources abound, both in support and with commemorative options.
Maybe it sounds bratty and selfish, but I want to have as much of a normal pregnancy as the next woman. We are taking strides to do that. Weekly updates are just one more way for me to connect to this pregnancy, connect with my daughter and do something for her right now.
So with that, here’s Week 1 and 2 talking about all the ways we attempted to get her here.
Ahhhhh the joy’s of infertility, we get to document the pregnancy from the very first instant; fairly incredible in my opinion.
